Police across NSW are shocked by the sudden death of one of our members in a motor vehicle crash overnight. We are also concerned for another member who was injured in the same crash and is in hospital.

Police Association of NSW (PANSW) field organisers have been at the scene, the police station and the hospital since shortly after the crash. They are supporting members and families and helping coordinate welfare services.

“While most of us are asleep, our members are out all over the state looking for trouble. They face danger every shift and are dedicated to preserving the safety of their communities. The death of this officer is sad evidence of the dangers they face.” PANSW President Kevin Morton said.

“In the coming days, as the community learn more about this officer, it will become apparent what a special young person they were. We grieve with our members and commit to supporting their family into the future.” Next Tuesday 29th September 2026 is National Police Remembrance Day. Police and the community across the country will join together to remember those we have lost in the pursuit of safety for all of us.

“This is an emotional time for police and their families, many who have experienced the grief of losing a colleague. If you see police out an about over the next few days, just say G’day and make their day a little lighter. It really will make a difference.” The PANSW President said.

The PANSW is not releasing any details of our fallen member, and we refer all those enquiries to NSW Police Media.
