Vacancy for Position of Organiser (Field Officer)
Applications are invited from serving members of the Police Association of NSW for the position of Organiser with your Association. The position is to be filled on a two-year secondment basis, to fill a vacancy that will exist within our multi-disciplined professional teams.
Duties include:
- Organising members and branches in assigned areas (metropolitan and country areas) as part of a multi-disciplined team driving the concept of ‘Branch Focus’ within designated areas of responsibility;
- Investigating complaints by members regarding their working conditions, terms of employment and assisting with action at local level when necessary; and
- Reporting to the Assistant Secretary- Organising, for all activities and reports etc.
Applicants for the position should have a demonstrated ability to perform these functions, as well as a commitment to the Association and the principles of trade unionism, consistent with the branch focus model of organising adopted by the Association. High level written and verbal communications skills are essential. Applicants with experience as Branch Officials will be highly regarded. Remuneration for this position and other conditions of employment, including the provision of a motor vehicle, are prescribed in the relevant Industrial Award.
